How to create a US Google account on accounts.google.com (2026)
Follow Google’s official signup, finish phone verification and a recovery email, then sign in on your phone.
You want a Google account you can sign into yourself long term—not a shared login someone sold you.

Before you start
A Google Account spans Gmail, Drive, YouTube, and Android. Signup is free, but Google checks age and abuse signals—use real details, not shared logins or SMS-farm numbers.
Real details
Use accurate name and birthday. Fake data breaks policy and makes recovery hard if Google locks the account.
Your phone
Codes go to the number you enter. Do not use SMS farms, bulk virtual numbers, or “guaranteed approval” sellers.
Recovery email
Add another inbox you control. Google often re-challenges with that address or the same phone when you reset a password or add a device.

In a browser go to

Verify your phone and add recovery email
Enter your mobile number, receive an SMS or voice code, and type it in. Add a recovery email (a second inbox you control is fine). Accept the Google Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to finish.

First sign-in on Android or iPhone
Android: Settings → Passwords & accounts → Add account → Google. iPhone: Settings → Mail → Accounts → Add Account → Google, or sign in through the Google app. Re-use the same phone or recovery email if challenged again.

- The number may be overused, VoIP, or mismatched with your region. Try your carrier mobile or wait and retry—do not buy “guaranteed pass” numbers.

- Shared or resold accounts break policy and the original owner can recover them. Only use accounts you create on the official page.

Questions
Do I need a US mobile number?
Google checks what numbers work for your session. You usually need a real mobile that can take SMS or a voice code; VoIP and SMS-farm numbers are often rejected. Follow the page.
Can I skip phone verification?
Most new accounts cannot. If the page requires it, use a number you control—not a third-party SMS service.
I already have Gmail—register again?
If your @gmail.com works, sign in at accounts.google.com. Register a second account only when you need a new address or a clean split from work.
